Meet The Gore Team: 20% Off Registration Fee
Gore Products for Professional Use are presenting three core products for top to toe PPE safety and protection at this year’s Utility Week virtual conference:
- Arc Rated GORE® PYRAD® protective garments for everyday wear
New to the market Gore are showcasing this breakthrough technology which offers Class 2 arc protection within a one ply fabric. Designed for everyday working scenarios when waterproof protection isn’t required, GORE® PYRAD® protective garments provide electrical workers with high level defence against the thermal hazards of an electric arc. Coveralls, trousers and jackets manufactured from this new fabric, which weighs less than 330g/m², are up to 50% lighter than other garments with Class 2 arc protection.
- Arc Rated GORE-TEX PYRAD® product technology for foul weather
Since its launch into the UK electrical utility market in 2017, GORE-TEX PYRAD® fabric technology is now used by a vast majority of workers within the distribution network operator (DNO) sector all of whom are making the most of its comfort and safety benefits. Its keen adoption is down to this Class 2 arc rated, self-extinguishing and weatherproof garment technology providing heat and flame resistance and offering multiple norm protection, whilst at the same time being lightweight and comfortable to wear.
- GORE-TEX Safety Footwear
Gore stringently develop and test the entire shoe or boot system which is made up of the outer material, insulation, membrane and lining in state-of-the-art laboratory conditions. Following this, boots are then trialled in specific real life, tough working environments and only when products meet Gore’s high quality performance standards are they cleared for production. The test criteria often exceeds the requirements defined in EN ISO 20345:2011 – Personal protective equipment – Safety footwear / EN ISO 20347:2012 – Personal protective equipment – Occupational footwear.
